Why I should stick to my obsessive nature and never let go.. good things some to those who obsess

I only became aware of Neil Gaiman due to the Stardust movie. I love the movie and so picked up his books. But his book is not the movie, books never are. Movies are more like snapshots of peaces of a book. I loved the movie so much that I spent the whole time reading comparing the book and not getting the full effect of the book. Shame on me for not showing the book proper respect.

Now there is another movie coming out based on Neil Gaiman’s book Coraline. It looks good and interesting but I am unsure when I would like to read the book, because read it now I must. Do I want to read it before the movie and spend the whole time comparing the movie to the book. Or do I want to read it after the movie and spend my time reading the book comparing it to the movie. If I leave it to afterwards, maybe I can give myself enough space so that the movies edges become a little blurry and I can’t compare as distinctly, and therefore am able to let go and enjoy the book for what it is truly worth. I will probably try and get it from the library as soon as possible, because I am after all a book slut.

The point is for the purpose of this movie they have made 50 original boxes to send out to bloggers of note. I am not one of them… shame on me for not being more prominent in the blogsphere… but I’ll work on that. Anyways, I wanted to post the links to the found boxes so far, so that you too can go and check it out.

Box 2. More Everything, Diary of a Fangirl (http://kissthelibrarian.wordpress.com/2008/11/24/a-little-nail-polish-a-bit-of-coraline-and-an-email-from-neil-gaiman/)

I’ll add more as I find them. Some of the links for some of the boxes aren’t working, I didn’t bother posting those ones.

Or you can just follow the following link and it will give it all too yah, without me having to labor around. HAVE FUN!!!

It is endlessly amusing to see these boxes and the bloggers reactions, and makes me infinitively more jealous and a little depressed with myself. Self loathing…for shame. I am a happy person who shoots sunshine out their ass…. ask me about that later.

P.S. The movies is at this website: http://www.coraline.com/

But you will need the following passwords to check things out:

stopmotion
buttoneyes
moustachio
puppetlove
armpithair
sweaterxxs

I would tell you what the passwords show you first, but that just ruins the whole fun and surprise of it all. Anyways, very amusing, and so worth your time.
