As mentioned yesterday I will be participating in the 2011
debut author challenge. One of the books that first made it on to
my 2011 to read no matter what happens pile is Across the Universe by Beth Revis.
“A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.
Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the
vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awake on a new planet, three
hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her
frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that
she would be thrust into a brave new world of a spaceship that
lives by its own rules. Amy quickly realizes that her awakening was
no mere computer malfunction. Someone—one of the few thousand
inhabitants of the spaceship—tried to kill her. And if Amy doesn’t
do something soon, her parents will be next. Now, Amy must race to
unlock Godspeed’s hidden secrets. But out of her list of murder
suspects, there’s only one who matters: Elder, the future leader of
the ship and the love she could never have seen coming.”
Now doesn’t that sound like a pretty damned awesome synospsis. Here go watch the book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVEaYz4-LdE
If that doesn’t convince you just yet, keep reading. I have the true confession that really convinced me to buy this book at the end. Of course you could just scan to the end, but you would miss out on a lot of cool stuff in-between. Across the Universe has come
out today and I honestly can’t wait for my preorder to come in the mail. I have a million books (okay so that might be a slight exaggeration) on my bedside table that need to be read, but I very well will probably ditch them to take an adventure out into space
as soon as this book arrives.
In honor the book launch I have some pretty awesome stuff to showcase here today.
First off lets start with the website for the book. Go there and check that out now. You can get freaking lost. Isn’t it marvelous!?!?!?! There are two places that are off limits. Elders cabin, and the storage area. I think that reading the novel might help solve that problem, but I’m not entirely sure, as I haven’t yet read it.
Want to stalk this book like there is no tomorrow??? Have I convince you yet of its sexy?
FACEBOOK (http://www.facebook.com/acrosstheuniversebook) you know for those who like facebook.
Publisher stalking (because if they can produce this awesome they should have other tricks up their sleeve as well, like the sequel)

And time for a confession, the reason why I love this book so much and I haven’t even read it. It has two covers on one dust jacket.
Yup TWO!!! If I didn’t already love the first cover it was
the second one that totally sold me on buying it in hard cover. I am a cover slutt, and this just SCREAMED my name!! Have fun and hope you enjoy!!!
