“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This weeks WOW is brought to you by the blog post of Carrie Harris and Bookinista’s.
Release Date: June 7th 2011
Vi knows the Rule: Girls don’t walk with boys, and they never even thinkabout kissing them. But no one makes Vi want to break the Rules more than Zenn…and since the Thinkers have chosen him as Vi’s future match, how much trouble can one kiss cause? The Thinkers may have brainwashed the rest of the population, but Vi is determined to think for herself.
But the Thinkers are unusually persuasive, and they’re set on convincing Vi to become one of them…starting by brainwashing Zenn. Vi can’t leave Zenn in the Thinkers’ hands, but she’s wary of joining the rebellion, especially since that means teaming up with Jag. Jag is egotistical, charismatic, and dangerous–everything Zenn’s not. Vi can’t quite trust Jag and can’t quite resist him, but she also can’t give up on Zenn.
This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play.
So I had scene this book back when I was weary about Dystopia. But now that I am a full on addict (thank you Divergent) I can’t help be drawn to this book. Also Carrie Harri’s most recent blog post totally drew me in. Mind control. Interesting (she says as she taps her fingers together). I’m not sure how I feel about this cover. It’s kind of the white simple of Matched with the image of colour centered in the middle. I can’t really tell you if it is effective until I have read the book. Right now it’s intriguing but it’s not quite stunning in my mind. I’m hoping it’s connection to the book really makes the cover hit home for me.
